I arrived in London on February, 20th at Stansted Airport, flying with Ryanair for the first time. Overall, it was a good experience, however, I found it rather bizarre and amusing to see stewardesses selling scratchcards during the flight. 🤣
Upon arriving, I took a bus from Stansted to Waterloo Station – Stop H, and noticed some trash along the avenue connecting Stansted to London – M11. It was surprising to see, but I brushed it off, understanding that it’s a common issue in big cities.
The Walrus Bar & Hostel is fantastic. It consists of 4 floors plus the ground floor. The ground floor features a lounge where guests can enjoy live music in the evenings, and complimentary free breakfast is served there in the mornings. It’s simple, but it’s satisfactory.
I chose this hostel for your great location. See the map below:

It was an amazing trip. I had the opportunity to converse with locals and fellow tourists from various backgrounds, including German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Japanese.
Food
I didn’t sample much of the local cuisine. However, I did try a Full English Breakfast once and quite enjoyed it. Basically, I opted for affordable meals, choosing £1 options from Sainsbury’s Local every day.
Toilets
There are plenty of public toilets around the city’s landmarks, but some of them can be quite expensive! 1.76 euros for a Toilet at Covent Garden! I only came across one public and free toilet, but, unfortunately, it was not suitable for me to use.
Transport
I thoroughly enjoyed travelling by underground service! But, on my first attempt, I was perplexed by the multitude of lines. I opted to avoid the bus service due to the traffic congestion. Anyway, I felt compelled to try it at least once, and I quite liked the experience of riding the “New Routemaster”, colloquially known as the Boris Bus, which is a low-floor diesel double-decker bus.
I plan to write 7 posts, one for each day of my stay in London, detailing my itinerary, attractions, food experiences, and transport adventures, accompanied by pictures and videos.
